Intro:
We kick off this stable war with the managers of respectfully the Girls Friday and League of Mighty Women stables. Melanie Sykes is looking for revenge against her frenemy Sharon Horgan after they met in the ring back in 2021. Sharon knocked out Melanie to win her debut in five rounds. Can Melanie even the score or will Sharon show she is simply better?

Both women were part of the press conference for the event. Wearing fancy dresses as they walk onto the stage in the conference room at the hotel. Melanie wore a black figure hugging dress, Sharon wore a red dress that showed off her legs wurt a slit in the skirt. They shook hands but there was a tenseness on show.

Separating and going to separate tables with the name of their stables on them. Both had a microphone they picked up off the table. Melanie kicked off the event by saying "I should start this off by saying I have some personal news. This will be my final bout whatever happens. I retired once and Sharon was the woman to get me back in the ring, now I definitely feel that time is passing me by and I need to fully focus on the talent in the stable."

Sharon didn't seem to know about this as she looks at Melanie with a surprised look. She takes a moment to register what was said before replying with a smile "I hope you don't think I'll go easy on you Mel? You aren't going to make me go soft now." Melanie stares over at Sharon and rolls her eyes.

"Listen Sharon I do like you but this is honestly a score I have wanted to settle. You know that this has been coming, one way or another we are going to end our rivalry with either me showing you that I am tour equal or I'll admit I am inferior to you" says Melanie sternly. Sharon looks over at her a little perturbed by how Mel is talking.

Still Sharon replies "oh I knew, we have sparred remember after our bout and it's gotten heated at times. I like you too but you know I am a fighter too, we have circled each other I guess but this time we need to fight to prove a point. I am going to knock you out cold Mel." That makes Melanie smirk as she nods. Maybe that's what she wanted to see, that Sharon is taking this fight deadly serious.

Sharon adds "may the better woman win and her stable." Before standing up to go off to her side of the stage to talk to her fighter Anna Jay. While Melanie leaves to the other side to get a hug from her girls as they rush to see her, telling her they are behind her when she battles Sharon.

Fighting time at Jumeirah Beach, ring posts have been set into the sand itself, black coloured ropes and there's a select VIP crowd watching from chairs set up at two sets. With a judges table near the ring to watch the action.

First to walk to the ring from the tent set up as her stables dressing room is Melanie with coach Taryn Terrell. Melanie is wearing a violet bikini with matching gloves, her hair is braided. She looks Intense as she climbs into the ring. Taryn wishes her luck and tells her the girls are behind her as they hug.

Ali Landry now leads Sharon from her stables tent towards the ring. Sharon is wearing an emerald green bikini with black trim, black gloves and her hair in a ponytail. She looks fired up as she bangs her gloves before stepping into the ring.

Both women pacing in their corner clearly hoping this is the fight to settle things. The referee waves them to the center of the ring. They have hands on their hips as for friends they are staring intensely into each others eyes. They do respectfully touch gloves before walking to their corners to begin 10 rounds of cougar boxing action.

Round 1:
Engaging around the middle of the ring, for being friendly outside the ring, they are exchanging stiff single shots out the gate. Sharon landing a few hooks around the torso of her opponent. Getting caught with straight shots into her face as Melanie steps back to create space.

Hard fought opening minute with both clashing on the inside at times. Melanie breaks up the tempo by slamming in a jab to the nose of Sharon, stepping back when a right hook comes her way, landing a straight into the forehead of Horgan to snap back her head.

Less then a minute to go with Sykes holding the middle of the ring. Horgan being more defensive as she is getting caught at times with flush hooks behind a jab from Melanie. The round comes to an end with a nod from both before they return to their corners.

Round 2:
Exchanging more flurries now before they circle around. Both are warmed up fully and landing harder shots. Sharon dips under a jab before coming over the top with an overhand left square onto the lips of Melanie to knock her back a step.

Sharon now has control of the action, showing good head movement to dodge and land stiff counter punches. Melanie being forced to kick up sand as her back now has the ropes aimed at them. Sharon looking relaxed as she takes a few clean hits to her face, she is the one dictating the action with two punch combos landing flush on Sykes.

Going towards the end of the round. Melanie starts coming back at Sharon as is forced into more toe to toe exchanges. Cheeks are slowly marking up as they dig their toes into the sand. The bell dings to end proceedings with Sharon tapping her gloves together as she jogs to her corner. Melanie meanwhile fist bumps Taryn before sitting on her stool as they don't look worried by how the fight is going.

Round 3:
Stepping back out landing several two and three punch combos. Both women are giving their all to win this contest, nobody can question if they are motivated. Sharon crouches down to work the body of Mel, testing her abs. Melanie landing a few cuffing hooks around the top of her head.

An uppercut catches Mel to knock her head back. Sharon now muscles her back into the ropes, pounding in piston like punches to her face. Melanie needing to nudge off the Irish lass to create space. Both pounding in punches through the others guard as they open up more.

Melanie can't seem to get far away from the ropes. Sharon at times pressing her onto them, forcing Mel to clinch up. The round ends with Melanie looking frustrated now, maybe remembering what happened in their first contest. Sharon meanwhile enjoying the fight as she talks to Ali.

Round 4:
Doubling up her jab more and landing it into the chest of Sharon, Melanie is trying to change things up out the gate. Sharon coming over the top though with short hooks to make Melanie back off as she looks to be the more confident fighter.

But as they get into the second minute, Melanie catches out Sharon on the inside with an uppercut. Back goes Horgan to her heels as Melanie now slams in a five punch piston like combination into the face of the comedian. Sharon has to clinch up when she is pinned on the ropes.

Referee breaks them up with Sharon trying to get away from the ropes but Melanie is starting to get her rhthym going. Soon the round comes to an end with Melanie jogging to her corner with eyes full of fire. Sharon taking a breath as she sits down seeing that Mel isn't going to be rattled by her.

Round 5:
They resume with Sharon trying to get back inside. Melanie is landing a few short left hooks to the temple of Sharon to make her back off. A straight slams into the nose of Horgan to make her retreat to the outside part of the ring.

Melanie is starting to hammer in hooks around the guard of Sharon. Who tries to clinch up but is pushed back. AN UPPERCUT LANDS FLUSH ON THE CHIN OF SHARON TO RATTLE HER LEGS! LEFT HOOK IS FOLLOWED BY ANOTHER UPPERCUT TO SEND SHARON ONTO HER FRONT IN THE SAND!

Jogging over to the neutral corner, Melanie wipes her brow of sweat with her right glove. 1....2....3.... Sharon groans as she turns her head to the right. 4....5....6... Sharon reaches out with her right hand towards the ropes but she is still on her front. 7....8... Where she hasn't moved from. 9....10 it's over!

Winner Melanie Sykes KO Round 5

After:
Melanie wipes tears away as she starts sobbing tears of joy. This victory means so much as she can end her career on a high note. In the ring steps Taryn as she rushes to hug her. Both embracing as Melanie thanks her for all her support as a fighter. Taryn making sure to remind Melanie that Mel is still her boss, making Melanie chuckle as she wipes tears from her eyes.

Across the ring Sharon is helped onto her stool. Getting wiped down of sweat and sand. Sharon nods to Ali as she knows tonight she got caught out. Ali telling her she'll be back stronger as they discuss what happened.

Once both are ok Melanie comes over to check on Sharon. Who jokes that Mel should give her a rematch as they laugh before hugging warmly. Melanie asking "you didn't let me win right?" Making Sharon shake her head. Sharon replying "of course not, maybe if this weren't about our stables. Now my girls have to do the hate work that I failed to do." Making Melanie smile and nod in appreciation.

Sharon stands against the ropes, partly for support as she applause when Melanie gets her left hand raised. While this is a stable war and things will get personal tonight, these two at least haven't lost their friendship over it. Leaving the ring together to go get cleaned up before watching their girls go against each other from ringside.

While Melanie hasn't had exactly a remarkable career in the ring. Outside of it dealing with other managers and helping her girls win titles. This was a nice way for her to go out in a nice manner with a victory and now hoping to see her talent win this stable war.
